DENTAL PULP
(DSPC)

Provia currently offers researchers access to mesenchymal stem cells from dental pulp (DPSC) found in human:
 

  • third molars

  • exfoliated teeth

  • follicular tissue

MSCs from Dental Pulp (DPSC) are a significant source of stem cells that are known to express important transcription factors such as:

  • oct4

  • sox2

  • klf4

  • nanog

  • c-myc – an indicator of their pluripotency. 

 

Flow cytometric analysis shows that these cells are positive for:

  • CD73

  • CD90

  • CD105

 

Flow cytometric analysis shows that these cells are negative for:

  • CD34 and CD45 – suggesting mesenchymal stem cells. 

 

Under appropriate culture conditions, DPSCs have been shown to differentiate into the following types of cells:

  • osteogenic

  • adipogenic

  • neurogenic cells. 

 

Certain sources of DPSC show considerable proliferative capacity, like those found in Exfoliated Deciduous Teeth (SHED).
